Getting & setting up your own Mozivio site

Here's the whole journey from "we want a Mozivio site" to a site your band actually uses, start to finish.

1Order a subscription

Pick a plan and complete the signup form. You choose your subdomain name there too (yourband.mozivio.com) — you can always add your own domain name later, see Reach your public site.

2Wait for setup, then set your admin password

Once payment clears, your site is provisioned automatically — this usually takes a few minutes, not hours. You'll get two emails: one welcoming you to Mozivio, and a separate one from your own site with a link to set your admin password. That second email is what actually gets you in, so keep an eye out for it too if the first one arrives without it.

3Mozivio settings — the minimum to go live

Log into the Backstage and open Site settings. Nothing here is strictly required to keep the site reachable — it's already live the moment it's provisioned — but filling in your band's name and picking brand colors is what makes it look like your own site rather than a blank template. Set your public site's language here too.

4Optional: populate your frontstage

Your public website already works with nothing on it beyond the default pages, but most bands want at least some real content before sharing the link. See Changing your website content for news, contact forms and page sections, and Create your own photo album for a photo gallery. This step can wait — it doesn't block anything that follows.

5Backstage setup

This is where the actual band management gets set up, in the order that makes sense — each step builds on the one before it:

  • a. Define your band(s) — see Bands. Most associations need just one; some add a second for e.g. a youth band.
  • b. Define instrument groups — see Instruments. This is the list members pick from on their own profile, and what sheet music parts get matched against.
  • c. Add members and assign roles — see Members and User roles. Each member needs an instrument set on their profile before they'll see any sheet music.
  • d. Add your first piece, event and task — see Adding sheet music, Events and Tasks. Once these exist, your members actually have something to log in for.

6Install the Mozzy app Plus and up

On Plus and up, members can use the Mozzy mobile app instead of (or alongside) the website — the same events, tasks, sheet music and notifications, built for a phone. See Mozzy for how members find and install it.
