This page lists every task you're eligible for — your board's own Tasks screen is where those get created.
Tasks come in two flavors: a General task is an ongoing role not tied to any date (chair, secretary, treasurer...); anything else carries the name of the event it belongs to instead (bar duty at the summer fair, building the stage...). General tasks are always listed first, since they stay relevant regardless of date.
Every task you're eligible for and haven't taken yet, with how many spots are still free and who (if anyone) has already taken one. Click Take this task to fill a spot yourself — it moves straight into "Tasks I've taken" below. A task disappears from this list once every spot is filled, though it's never deleted outright; it simply becomes available again if someone who took it backs out.
Everything you've taken up yourself, or that the board pre-assigned you to directly. Changed your mind, or can't make it after all? Click Reject to free up your spot — it immediately becomes available to other eligible members again.
Your board decides, per task, either specific members or entire bands who may take it up — or leaves it open to everyone. You'll only ever see tasks you're actually eligible for; there's nothing to configure on your end.
Your dashboard also shows a compact Tasks card — the same two lists (taken / still open) in miniature, with a link straight to this page. Handy for a quick glance without leaving the dashboard; if a nearby event still needs volunteers, you might also get a reminder email from the board pointing you here directly.
